9th Turkey Energy Summit took place at Regnum Carya Golf And Spa Resort Hotel, Antalya on 9-10 October 2018. Boden Law held a workshop on “Arbitration and Mediation on Energy”. Dr. Candan Yasan Tepetaş (ISTAC Secretary General), Değer Boden, (Managing Partner, Boden Law) and Inanc Akalın (Mediator and Counsel to Boden Law) were the speakers in the workshop.
Turkey: 5th Annual International Arbitration & Regulatory Summit took place at Intercontinental Hotel, Istanbul on 27 September 2018. Our Founding Partner, Değer Boden made a speech on “Protecting Turkish investors under Investment Treaties of Turkey”.
Boden Academy held a round-table discussion on “Energy Security, Pipeline Politics and Investment Stability: What Role for Rule of Law?” on 2 July 2018. Professor Peter Cameron (Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (“CEPMLP”), the University of Dundee), John Roberts (Methinks Ltd.), Gökçe Mete (Research Fellow at CEPMLP, the University of Dundee) and Değer Boden (Boden Law) were speakers. Representatives from reputable energy companies, energy trading companies, energy services companies, energy sector associations, banks and academicians from universities and energy centers attended the meeting. The transition in the energy sector, decentralized energy systems and carbon emission policies, energy security, challenges for pipeline projects, climate change cases, recent energy disputes, investment stability were among the topics discussed in the meeting.

Digital energy trading infrastructures such as Enerchain project, smart contracts and legal aspects, future of OTC markets and EFET contracts, MiFID II, a need for a standard contract for gas trading in Turkish market were among the topics discussed in the meeting.
